Martha “Marty” Sweeney, speech-language pathologist and Head of The Odyssey School, serves as a consultant with the Finney group and brings her expertise in the world of learning differences to the recruitment process. Marty is in her thirteenth year as the Head of The Odyssey School, a school that provides specialized instruction to students who are kindergarten through 8th grade age with dyslexia, dysgraphia and other language-related learning differences.

 

Marty’s professional life has focused on the development of the language and literacy skills of preschool and school-aged children in public and independent school settings. Prior to taking on a leadership role at The Odyssey School, Marty owned a private practice in speech-language pathology.  Marty’s vast experience is coupled with her appreciation of each child’s unique educational journey.

Marty graduated Summa Cum Laude from Loyola College with a B.A. in Speech-Language Pathology, then earned an M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology, also from Loyola College. Marty is a native of Baltimore and has four grown children, and a lovable black lab named Rudy.
